Thanks to its high-capacity batteries, fast USB-C charging and intelligent charging system, the SmallRig 3823 delivers dependable performance both in the studio and on location.

Whether you’re working through a full shooting day, livestreaming, filming a documentary, conducting interviews or creating content on the go, the SmallRig 3823 NP-F970 Battery & Charger Kit helps ensure your equipment stays powered for longer.

Designed for Professional Video Production

The Sony NP-F970 battery format is one of the most widely used battery standards in professional video production. It powers a broad range of external monitors, LED lights, wireless video systems, camera accessories and portable power solutions.

The SmallRig 3823 NP-F970 Battery & Charger Kit is fully compatible with the Sony L-Series (NP-F) battery standard and works with equipment from numerous manufacturers. The batteries match the dimensions of original Sony NP-F970 batteries, ensuring a secure fit and reliable electrical connection.

Two High-Capacity Batteries for Extended Runtime

The kit includes two high-capacity NP-F970 batteries, each offering 7,800 mAh capacity, a 7.2 V nominal voltage and 56.16 Wh of energy. This substantial capacity provides significantly longer operating times than smaller NP-F550 or NP-F750 batteries, making them ideal for equipment that requires continuous power during extended shooting sessions.

The increased battery capacity reduces the need for frequent battery changes, allowing you to focus on your production rather than charging interruptions.

Smart Dual-Slot Charger

The included charger allows two batteries to be charged simultaneously, saving time and improving workflow efficiency. Its intelligent charging system automatically monitors the charging process and adjusts the charging current according to the number of connected batteries.

When charging a single battery, the charger provides up to 8.4 V / 1.5 A output (with a 9 V power input). When charging two batteries simultaneously, it delivers up to 8.4 V / 1 A to each battery. This ensures fast, safe charging without placing unnecessary stress on the batteries.

USB-C and Micro-USB Connectivity for Greater Flexibility

The charger supports both USB-C and Micro-USB inputs, allowing it to be powered from a variety of sources. It can be connected to USB wall chargers, car chargers, power banks or portable power stations, making it especially practical for field productions and travel.

For optimal charging performance, the manufacturer recommends using a charger capable of supplying at least 9 V / 2 A.

Durable Batteries for Everyday Professional Use

SmallRig designed the NP-F970 batteries specifically for demanding professional applications. High-quality lithium-ion cells provide stable output voltage and long service life, even after frequent charge and discharge cycles.

The kit also includes protective terminal covers that help protect the battery contacts during storage and transportation. The robust battery housing withstands daily use in both studio and outdoor environments.

Compatible with a Wide Range of Professional Equipment

In addition to Sony video cameras, NP-F970 batteries are compatible with a wide variety of professional accessories, including external monitors, LED lighting panels, wireless video transmitters, camera sliders and numerous portable power solutions.

This makes the SmallRig 3823 NP-F970 Battery & Charger Kit an excellent all-in-one power solution for videographers, photographers and content creators who rely on multiple NP-F-powered devices.

Compact Solution for Studio and Field Work

Despite its high-capacity batteries, the included charger remains compact and highly portable. Thanks to USB-powered operation, no dedicated AC adapter is required, allowing the charger to be used virtually anywhere a USB power source is available.

Its compact design makes the kit equally suitable for studio work and mobile productions where flexibility and reliable power are essential.
