The use of filters helps to comply with the 180-degree shutter speed rule, widely used in the film industry, which states that the shutter speed should be approximately twice the frame rate used. For example, filming at 30 frames per second achieves a more natural motion effect with a shutter speed of about 1/60th of a second. Without ND filters, a drone camera is forced to use a very short shutter speed in bright light, which makes the video too visually sharp and unnatural.
