DJI Mic Mini 2S (1TX + 1RX) – Compact Wireless Microphone Kit with Internal Recording
DJI Mic Mini 2S (1TX + 1RX) is a compact wireless microphone kit that includes one transmitter weighing approximately 12 g and one receiver with versatile connectivity. Kit is suitable for recording vlogs, interviews, podcasts, live streams, travel videos, training sessions, and other content with cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. 32-bit float internal recording, two-level AI noise canceling, a transmission range of up to 400 meters, and approximately 14.5 GB of transmitter storage help capture clear audio while creating a secure backup of important material.
DJI Mic Mini 2S (1TX + 1RX) is designed primarily for recording one speaker, but the system can later be expanded with additional compatible transmitters. Receiver supports up to four transmitters simultaneously, allowing this compact single-transmitter kit to develop into a microphone system for multi-person interviews, podcasts, or commercial productions. Charging case is not included with this version.
32-Bit Float Internal Recording
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter supports 32-bit float internal recording, which captures audio with an exceptionally wide dynamic range. This reduces the need to monitor sound levels constantly or adjust gain manually during recording. If a speaker suddenly becomes louder, moves closer to the microphone, or acoustic conditions change rapidly, 32-bit float format provides more flexibility for recovering excessively quiet or loud sections in post-production.
Wide dynamic range helps reduce risk of clipping and distortion, although correct microphone placement and suitable settings remain important for achieving the best results. 32-bit float internal recording is disabled by default and can be activated in DJI Mimo app.
Approximately 14.5 GB of Internal Storage and Up to 28 Hours of Recording
Transmitter has approximately 14.5 GB of built-in storage, providing space for up to 28 hours of 24-bit audio. In 32-bit float mode, up to 22 hours of audio can be stored internally. Generous capacity makes the microphone suitable for long interviews, events, training sessions, and lectures without requiring storage to be cleared after every short recording.
Internal recording creates a separate backup on the transmitter alongside wireless audio sent to the receiver. If connection is temporarily interrupted or radio-frequency interference occurs, internally recorded audio remains stored on the transmitter and can be used in post-production.
Recording can be configured to start automatically when transmitter is powered on. When used with DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver, internal recording can also synchronize with receiver operation: recording starts automatically when connection is restored and stops when receiver is powered off. If receiver battery begins to run low, the system can automatically activate internal recording to protect important audio.
Transmitter can also function as a standalone audio recorder without a receiver. This is useful for capturing interviews, voice notes, lectures, and other audio in situations where wireless transmission is unnecessary.
Original or Processed Audio Files
Internal recordings can be saved either as an original Original File or as an algorithm-enhanced Edited File. Original files are suitable for users who want clean source material to process manually in post-production. Processed files can include noise canceling, voice tone presets, low-cut filtering, and adaptive gain control.
This provides a choice between flexible unprocessed audio and sound optimized during recording. Processed file format is used by default, and this setting can be changed through DJI Mimo app or a compatible connected device.
Two-Level AI Noise Canceling
DJI Mic Mini 2S uses a new AI-powered noise-canceling model that helps separate speech from surrounding noise and preserve vocal clarity. Users can choose between two noise-canceling levels according to recording conditions.
Basic mode is suitable for quieter indoor environments where sounds from fans, air conditioning, room reverberation, or other moderate background noise need to be reduced. Strong mode is designed for noisier conditions and helps suppress traffic, crowds, and other prominent ambient sounds.
Noise canceling can be activated using transmitter button or DJI Mimo app and is disabled by default. When multiple transmitters are connected to the receiver, noise canceling can be enabled or disabled for all transmitters simultaneously.
If Original File is selected as internal recording file type, noise canceling is not applied to original internally recorded audio. It still affects audio transmitted to the receiver, allowing users to retain an unprocessed backup while applying noise reduction to wireless audio.
A suitable windscreen helps reduce wind gusts and other unwanted noise outdoors, making the microphone a practical choice for vlogs, travel videos, and live streams.
Three Voice Tone Presets
DJI Mic Mini 2S offers three voice tone presets for adapting sound to a user’s voice and content style. Regular mode delivers clean, natural, and balanced audio. Rich mode emphasizes lower frequencies, making voices sound fuller and more powerful. Bright mode highlights higher frequencies, adding clarity and presence to speech.
Voice tone can be selected in DJI Mimo app, with Regular mode used by default. If internal recording is set to Original File format, voice tone processing is not applied to original internally recorded audio, but selected processing still affects sound transmitted to the receiver.
Adaptive Gain Control
Automatic gain control helps stabilize volume when speaker distance or surrounding sound levels change. Clipping Control mode reduces sudden volume peaks and helps protect recordings from distortion. This is useful at sporting events, near traffic, and in other environments with rapidly changing sound levels.
Loudness Balance mode dynamically adjusts gain to keep speech volume more consistent. This function is suitable for interviews, vlogs, and live streams where a speaker may move or change vocal volume during recording. Adaptive gain control can be configured in DJI Mimo app and is disabled by default.
Transmitter Weighing Approximately 12 Grams
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter weighs approximately 12 g with its magnetic front cover, excluding magnet and mounting clip. Low weight keeps the microphone comfortable during longer recording sessions, reduces fabric sagging, and helps transmitter remain unobtrusive on camera.
Transmitter can be attached to clothing with a magnet or clip. Detachable mounting clip rotates fully, allowing microphone to be positioned sideways or upside down while maintaining a suitable orientation for different clothing and shooting angles.
Transmitter appearance can be personalized with separately sold magnetic front covers in various colors. Microphone can therefore be made less noticeable against clothing or a production’s visual style, or used intentionally as part of its design.
Versatile Receiver for Cameras and Smart Devices
Included DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver allows wireless audio to be used with cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. Receiver features a 3.5mm TRS connection for transmitting audio to a compatible camera or other recording device. Compatibility and required cables or adapters depend on connected equipment.
DJI Mimo app allows users to adjust microphone settings, select noise-canceling levels and voice tone, configure gain control, and update firmware. Receiver provides quick access to central system functions and makes the kit suitable for both camera-based and mobile workflows.
Transmission Range of Up to 400 Meters
Wireless transmission distance between DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter and Receiver can reach up to 400 meters in an open, unobstructed, and interference-free environment. This gives content creators greater freedom of movement during interviews, events, demonstrations, sports, and other productions covering a larger area.
Actual operating range depends on surroundings, buildings, people, radio-frequency interference, device positioning, and other usage conditions. Range may be shorter in crowded urban environments or rooms separated by walls than in an open outdoor area.
Mono, Stereo, and Four-Channel Operation
DJI Mic Mini 2S system supports mono, stereo, and four-channel audio transmission. Single-transmitter kit is ready for recording one speaker, while adding more transmitters allows audio channels to be separated and processed individually in post-production.
Safety Track can also be enabled in DJI Mimo app to record a backup track 6 dB below main channel. This helps reduce risk of losing material because of excessive volume, clipping, or distortion.
Independent four-channel output is available with compatible Sony cameras when using a separately sold DJI Mic Series Camera Adapter. Four-channel output can also be used with selected computer software through a USB connection. This function allows audio from four speakers to be recorded separately and provides more precise control over levels and mixing during editing.
Expandable to Four Transmitters
Included DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver can connect to up to four transmitters simultaneously. System also supports compatible DJI Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2, and Mic Mini 2S transmitters from different generations, allowing existing devices to be combined and the setup to be expanded gradually.
This 1TX + 1RX kit includes one transmitter. Additional transmitters are sold separately. Expandability makes the kit suitable for users starting with one speaker who may later need a solution for two- or four-person interviews, podcasts, and commercial productions.
OsmoAudio Direct Connection
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter supports OsmoAudio direct connection, allowing it to connect to selected DJI Osmo devices without using included receiver. Compatible devices include DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6. Depending on Osmo model, up to two transmitters can be connected directly.
OsmoAudio delivers high-quality 48 kHz / 24-bit audio while helping keep camera setups compact. This is useful for travel, vlogging, recording sports, and other situations where a separate receiver is unnecessary.
Bluetooth Connection to a Smartphone
Transmitter can also function as a Bluetooth microphone and connect directly to a smartphone. In this configuration, it works with compatible third-party recording and live-streaming apps. One transmitter can be connected directly via Bluetooth at a time.
A smartphone’s native camera app does not support a transmitter connected directly via Bluetooth as an audio source. For regular smartphone video recording, included receiver can be used with a compatible connection or suitable adapter.
Transmitter stores pairing data for two receivers and one compatible Osmo camera. After initial pairing, devices can reconnect automatically, simplifying switching between a camera, smartphone, and Osmo device.
Up to 11 Hours of Transmitter Use and 10 Hours of Receiver Use
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter operates for up to 11 hours on a single charge, while Receiver provides up to 10 hours of operation. This allows the kit to be used throughout longer interviews, events, and production days without frequent charging breaks. Actual operating time depends on enabled features, connection, ambient temperature, and other usage conditions.
Approximately five minutes of charging can provide up to one additional hour of operating time for both transmitter and receiver. Fast charging helps return devices to use after a short break and reduces downtime during busy production days.
To conserve power, transmitter automatically enters sleep mode when no receiver signal is detected. Once connection becomes available again, it wakes and reconnects to receiver. Automatic power-off can also be enabled in DJI Mimo app, allowing devices to switch off after remaining disconnected for an extended period.
When used with a compatible camera setup and appropriate settings, receiver power can be synchronized with camera power status. This simplifies operation and reduces risk of accidentally leaving receiver switched on after recording has ended.
