A Clear Reference Point for Practising Flight Paths

In FPV flying, a course flag marks a point to turn around or use as a reference for adjusting a drone’s flight path. This makes exercises repeatable: pilots can fly the same route several times while focusing on turning radius, speed selection and their exit towards the next section.

A single flag can serve as a reference for a basic turning exercise. Several flags can form a slalom or a training course with successive direction changes. Adjusting flag spacing and placement allows exercises to suit a pilot’s experience and the drone being used.

3.6-Metre Height

Gemfan Flag S has an overall height of 360 cm, or 3.6 metres. This makes it a vertical course marker that helps pilots recognise the layout of a flying area.

When planning a course, position the flag where it stands out against its surroundings and is visible from the intended approach direction. This gives pilots a reference for preparing turns and maintaining their flight path.

Collapsible Fibreglass and Aluminium Alloy Pole

The flagpole is made using fibreglass and aluminium alloy. It consists of three sections that can be taken apart for transport, making a tall course flag easier to carry and store.

Manufacturer-specified package dimensions are 120 × 7 × 6 cm. Its long, narrow shape makes it practical to pack alongside other course equipment and take to training sessions or events.

Ground Stake for Securing the Flag

An included ground stake allows the flag to be secured in the soil. It is suitable for courses set up in open training areas with appropriate ground conditions.

For temporary courses, this mounting method allows the flag to be repositioned. Moving a turning point, for example, can change a section’s length or approach angle, creating a new exercise in the same area. Ground conditions and wind should be considered during installation to keep the flag securely in place.
