RadioMaster GX15 – Versatile Radio Controller with Gemini ExpressLRS Connectivity

RadioMaster GX15 is a configurable radio controller for RC aircraft, gliders, helicopters and compatible FPV drones. Gemini 2.4 GHz ExpressLRS connectivity, V6 Hall sensor gimbals and EdgeTX firmware allow you to adapt the controller to different models and flying styles. It suits enthusiasts who want to use one controller across multiple models and tailor their controls to personal preferences.

Gemini ExpressLRS – Reliable Control Link

RadioMaster GX15 uses two Semtech SX1281 transceivers and supports Gemini mode in the 2.4 GHz band. Gemini transmits control data simultaneously on two different frequencies, increasing the likelihood of successful packet reception even in the presence of radio interference. A Gemini-compatible receiver is required to take full advantage of this capability.

Gemini’s main benefit is link stability: if interference affects reception on one frequency, a second transmission can help control data get through. This is useful at flying sites where several radio systems operate simultaneously. Actual link quality still depends on antenna orientation, surrounding conditions and selected radio settings.

Two integrated antennas are positioned in different orientations within the housing. This arrangement helps maintain reception as the relative orientation of model and controller changes, while keeping the controller convenient to carry.

V6 Hall Sensor Gimbals

The standard RadioMaster GX15 comes with V6 Hall sensor gimbals, which detect stick position using a magnetic field. Stick feel matters for both small course corrections and faster manoeuvres, allowing pilots to apply smooth, repeatable inputs.

Adjustable spring tension lets you tailor stick resistance to your preferences. Throttle feel and self-centring adjustments help adapt the controller to different model types. M4-threaded sticks allow you to choose compatible stick ends that suit your grip.

Clear 3.5-Inch IPS Touchscreen

A 3.5-inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 480 × 320 pixels sits at the top of the controller. Brightness of up to 600 nits helps maintain readability outdoors. Positioned above the gimbals, it keeps flight information visible while your hands are on the controls.

You can monitor timers, model settings and telemetry transmitted by a compatible system. Available information depends on the receiver, sensors and electronics installed in your model. A well-organised screen layout helps bring relevant information together in one view.

EdgeTX – Controls Tailored to Your Model

RadioMaster GX15 runs EdgeTX firmware version 2.12.0 or later and supports up to 16 control channels, depending on the receiver. EdgeTX lets you create separate configurations for different models, assign switch functions and customise how control inputs translate into outputs.

Flight modes allow different control settings to be used with the same model. Custom curves adjust how stick movement affects an output, while mixes combine multiple inputs into a single control channel. This provides flexibility when configuring aircraft control surfaces, helicopter functions or model accessories.

Logical switches allow functions to activate when specified conditions are met. This lets you adapt controller behaviour to a particular application while maintaining a familiar control layout across different models.

Customisable Controls and Motion Sensor

Interchangeable shoulder switch modules let you customise control types and layout. A built-in gyroscope allows controller tilt to act as an additional input, for example to trigger an assigned function or a spoken telemetry announcement.

An STM32 H7 processor powers the user interface and script execution. A built-in fan and aluminium heat sinks help dissipate heat generated during operation.

Expansion Options and Computer Connectivity

A JR-compatible module bay supports suitable external transmitter modules. This is a practical option if your model collection changes over time or a particular model requires a different radio protocol. Compatibility depends on the selected module and receiver.

USB-C connectivity supports charging, firmware updates and connection to compatible flight simulators. Simulator practice lets you develop your control skills using the same controller you will later use to fly a physical model.

Power and Everyday Use

RadioMaster GX15 operates at 6.6–8.4 V. It can be powered by a suitable 7.4 V two-cell LiPo battery or two 3.7 V 18650 lithium-ion cells installed in an appropriate battery tray. Batteries are not included, and your selection must meet the manufacturer’s requirements for battery type, dimensions and connection.

Built-in 512 MB flash storage allows operation without a separate memory card. A 32 GB FAT32-formatted microSD card is also supported; inserting a card replaces onboard flash storage as the active storage medium.

Included accessories comprise a carry case, 18650 battery tray, USB-C cable, screen protector and neck strap, among other items. These make storage, transport and use at your flying site more convenient.
