DJI RS 5
is a new generation of lightweight, professional camera stabilizers designed for content creators and filmmakers who need maximum stability, smart functionality and fast readiness for demanding shooting conditions. One of the key innovations of RS 5 is the enhanced Intelligent Tracking System, which allows you to select the subject directly from the stabilizer’s touchscreen. Tracking module keeps the selected subject in the frame accurately and smoothly, and can automatically re-identify the person when they temporarily leave the frame. This makes the RS 5 particularly suited to recording interviews, moving vlogs, commercials and dynamic scenes where the camera needs to constantly move with the subject.
Fifth-generation RS algorithm is responsible for stabilisation, backed by up to 50% more peak engine performance than the previous model. This ensures a steady and smooth shot even when moving fast, running or shooting vertically. A new Z-axis indicator provides real-time visual feedback on the camera’s vertical movement, helping the operator to better control the steps and achieve a more professional result.
Despite its power, DJI RS 5 is very light. With battery and quick-release plates, it weighs just 1.46 kg, but can carry camera and lens combinations weighing up to 3 kg. This makes the stabilizer suitable for most common mirrorless cameras, including full-frame sensor models. Native vertical shooting support allows for quick conversion to portrait format without the need for additional accessories and rebalancing, which is especially important for social media and mobile content production.
Balancing is made as fast and accurate as possible. Fine adjustment knobs on each axis are operated by a screw mechanism and, together with the Teflon™-coated sliding surfaces, allow smooth and controlled adjustment, even for the most difficult settings. Second-generation automatic axle locks automatically lock the stabiliser when switched off and open quickly when switched on, speeding up preparation and making transport safer.
Ergonomic operation is enhanced by a new electronic joystick that allows one-handed operation of both the stabilizer and the camera. A built-in joystick and buttons give more creative control even at low and dynamic shooting angles. In addition, RS 5 supports wireless shutter and zoom control via Bluetooth with a range of Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras, reducing the need for cables.
In the battery area, DJI RS 5 offers significant improvements. The stabilizer charges in just one hour and offers up to 14 hours of battery life with the standard battery. Using the high capacity battery holder, the battery life can be extended up to 30 hours, ideal for long shooting days and field work. Double-layer quick release plates, which support both Arca-Swiss and Manfrotto standards, allow for a quick transition from tripod to stabilizer without losing balance.
DJI RS 5 is a versatile tool that also supports professional accessories such as focus motors and wireless video playback.
