DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo is a wireless video transmission kit that includes two units, each capable of operating as a transmitter or receiver.
Support for up to DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video transmission and a minimum latency of 35 ms enables detailed camera monitoring on set.
Supported devices include RS 5, RS 4 Pro, RS 4, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels.
USB-C connectivity also supports Osmo Action 6 action cameras and Osmo Pocket series devices.
DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo – Professional Wireless Video Transmission and Flexible Monitoring
DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo is a compact wireless video transmission system that delivers camera feeds to operators, directors and other crew members on set. This kit includes two transceivers, each capable of operating as either a transmitter or receiver. Their roles can be changed to suit production requirements, allowing the same equipment to be used across different camera and monitor configurations.
Support for up to DCI 4K/60fps 10-bit HDR video, H.265 encoding and a minimum latency of 35 ms allows production crews to monitor detailed, smooth images away from a camera. This system suits both smaller crews and multi-camera productions where several people need access to camera feeds.
Two Units with Interchangeable Transmitter and Receiver Roles
Both units in DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo can operate in transmitter (TX) or receiver (RX) mode. The included devices can establish a link between one transmitter and one receiver, but their roles are not permanently fixed. As a shooting setup changes, their roles can change with it.
One transmitter can share a video feed with up to eight receivers, each supporting remote control functions. Up to five transmitters and 40 receivers can operate simultaneously in one production environment. This allows expansion with additional units and dedicated monitoring for directors and other crew members.
A connection that requires no separate pairing simplifies switching between camera feeds. During multi-camera shoots, this provides a more flexible monitoring setup as crew requirements change throughout the day.
Detailed DCI 4K Images and 10-bit HDR Video
DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo supports DCI 4K video transmission at up to 60 frames per second. 10-bit colour depth and HDR video support enable rich colours, smooth tonal transitions and detailed highlights and shadows. To take advantage of these capabilities, connected cameras and monitoring devices must also support the corresponding video signal.
With H.265 encoding, transmission bitrate reaches up to 50 Mbps. High resolution and detailed images help crews assess framing, check focus and evaluate a shot’s visual appearance on a suitable monitor.
Alongside DCI 4K, this system supports 4K UHD, 1080p, 1080i and 720p video formats. This allows integration with different cameras and monitors according to their supported input and output formats.
Low Latency and Long-Range Wireless Transmission
Minimum video transmission latency is 35 ms. Low latency helps crews follow movement within a frame and respond quickly when using remote focus or gimbal control with compatible equipment.
Under optimal conditions, transmission range reaches up to four kilometres. Actual range depends on location, obstacles, radio interference and system configuration. Maximum transmission distance should therefore be regarded as a figure achievable under ideal conditions, rather than a guaranteed result in every environment.
Maximum channel bandwidth is 40 MHz. When planning a shoot, it is important to consider both distance and the surrounding wireless environment, as well as frequencies permitted in that region.
Auto Channel 2.0 Helps Maintain a Stable Connection
Auto Channel 2.0 automatically coordinates channel use between devices. In automatic mode, transceivers detect one another and coordinate frequencies to support simultaneous operation of multiple systems.
Spectrum scanning and channel conflict detection allow devices to respond to changing wireless conditions and switch frequencies when necessary. This is useful on sets where several wireless devices operate simultaneously and radio traffic can fluctuate.
Supported frequency ranges are 2.400–2.4835 GHz, 5.150–5.250 GHz and 5.725–5.850 GHz, along with DFS ranges of 5.250–5.350 GHz and 5.470–5.725 GHz. Frequency availability varies by region, and local restrictions must be observed when using 5.8 GHz and DFS channels.
HDMI and USB-C Connectivity with Optional SDI Expansion
Each main unit features one HDMI port and two USB-C ports. HDMI operates as an input or output depending on whether a unit is configured as a transmitter or receiver. This allows the same device to be used at either end of a connection.
A separately sold DJI SDR Transmission 2 Expansion Plate adds one SDI port, one HDMI port and four USB-C ports. SDI is not available on the main unit, so connecting SDI cameras or monitoring equipment requires this expansion plate.
The expansion plate also supports metadata transmission over SDI from cameras such as ARRI and RED. Audio support includes embedded SDI, HDMI and DP audio input, plus 16-bit, 48 kHz stereo PCM output. Available connections depend on configuration and accessories.
Compatibility with DJI Ronin and Osmo Devices
DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo supports integration with DJI’s Ronin ecosystem. Supported devices include RS 5, RS 4 Pro, RS 4, RS 3 Pro, Ronin 2 and Master Wheels. This allows wireless monitoring to be combined with compatible gimbals and control equipment.
USB-C connectivity also supports Osmo Action 6 action cameras and Osmo Pocket series devices. Specific connection and remote control functions depend on the camera, gimbal and connection method used, so compatibility between individual devices should guide system configuration.
Compact Housing and Multiple Power Options
Each transceiver weighs approximately 136 grams, including antennas. Dimensions without antennas or a cold shoe adapter are 76 × 61 × 25 mm, making it suitable for compact camera setups. Its low weight helps limit additional load on a handheld gimbal or camera.
USB-C power options include 15 V / 3 A PD power or a 6.8–17.5 V DC supply. A 6.8–8.4 V NP-F battery is also supported, allowing a power source to be selected according to shooting requirements. Operating temperature ranges from −10 to +40 °C.
DJI SDR Transmission 2 Combo Package Contents
This kit includes two DJI SDR Transmission 2 transceivers, camera cold shoe adapters, a USB-C cable and a user manual. These two units can form a transmitter-receiver pair, while a larger monitoring network requires additional devices. The expansion plate providing SDI connectivity is sold separately.
