BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame – lightweight and durable 70 mm whoop frame

BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame is a micro-sized whoop frame with a 70 mm wheelbase, designed to provide stable, precise, and efficient flight for an FPV drone using 35 mm propellers. Its improved design combines an enlarged wheelbase, aerodynamically optimized propeller guards, reinforced polypropylene construction, and a wider battery slot. Frame is suitable for building a new Meteor65 Pro II drone or replacing a damaged original frame.

Weighing just 4.6 grams, frame is light enough to retain the quick response and agile handling expected from a micro drone. At the same time, reinforced construction improves resistance to impacts during everyday training, racing, and indoor flying. Integrated propeller guards surround the blades and help protect both propellers and nearby objects.

70 mm wheelbase improves stability

Meteor65 Pro II generation increases wheelbase from 66 mm on the previous Meteor65 Pro frame to 70 mm. Slightly more spacious geometry provides additional room for flight components and helps produce a more stable and predictable feel in the air. This is valuable when flying in confined indoor spaces, navigating technical whoop courses, or capturing micro aerial footage.

Enlarged wheelbase does not make the drone unnecessarily large. External frame dimensions are 91.4 × 91.4 × 15.4 mm, preserving the compact profile associated with the 65 mm class. BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame therefore provides a balance between small dimensions, responsive handling, and improved stability.

Optimized propeller guards and more efficient airflow

Frame aerodynamics have been improved compared with the previous generation. Number of braces connecting motor arms to propeller guards has been reduced from six to five, helping decrease both weight and air resistance. More curved propeller guard profile guides airflow more smoothly and supports more efficient operation of the propulsion system.

Propeller duct measures 37 mm in diameter and 4.5 mm in height. Frame is designed for 35 mm propellers, including BetaFPV Gemfan 1409 and Gemfan 35 mm three-blade propellers. Combined with correctly selected motors, this configuration helps deliver quick throttle response, precise handling, and suitable thrust for a whoop drone.

Integrated propeller guards make frame suitable for indoor flying. They reduce the likelihood of propellers coming into direct contact with walls, furniture, racing gates, and other obstacles. However, no frame can make a drone completely resistant to collision damage, so inspecting propeller guards and motor mounts before each flight is recommended.

Durable polypropylene construction

BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame is made from polypropylene, or PP. This material combines low weight, flexibility, and good impact resistance, all of which are particularly important for a micro FPV drone. Instead of behaving like a completely rigid material, polypropylene can flex slightly during moderate impacts and help dissipate impact energy.

Frame structure has been reinforced to provide durability comparable to the Meteor75 Pro frame in a more compact format. Strengthened motor areas, motor positioning slots, and a screw protection structure help minimize component movement and protect mounting points during frequent use.

This construction makes frame suitable for everyday training, practice courses, education, competitions, and micro aerial filming. If drone is damaged in a heavy collision, a separately available frame allows only the load-bearing structure to be replaced instead of the entire aircraft.

Wider battery slot for longer flights

Enlarged wheelbase has also allowed BetaFPV to make the battery slot more spacious. Slot measures 16.1 × 6.3 mm, providing more room for a higher-capacity 1S battery than the previous generation’s 11.6 × 6 mm compartment.

Wider battery slot supports larger LAVA II 1S batteries suitable for Meteor65 Pro II, including 480 mAh-class options. Greater energy capacity can extend flight time and reduce the need for frequent battery changes. When choosing a battery, however, it is important to consider its actual dimensions, connector, weight, and the requirements of installed electronics, as an excessively heavy battery can affect flight characteristics and motor load.

Integrating battery slot into frame helps position the battery close to drone’s centre of gravity. A properly secured battery reduces unwanted movement during flight and helps maintain more consistent balance and handling.

Installing electronics and motors

Flight controller mounting pattern measures 26 × 26 mm. This allows compatible BetaFPV Matrix 1S series 3IN1, 4IN1, and 5IN1 flight controllers to be installed. Before ordering components, check mounting dimensions, connector placement, and compatibility of the selected flight controller with the rest of the system.

Each corner has three M1.4 motor mounting holes arranged in a 6.6 mm diameter pattern. Frame is compatible with BetaFPV-recommended 0702- and 0802-class brushless motors. Motor selection should take into account the battery, propellers, flight controller, and desired flight characteristics.

Meteor65 Pro II construction includes motor positioning slots that help keep motors correctly aligned during assembly. Screw protection design reduces the risk of mounting screws touching sensitive motor components when screws of an appropriate length are used. Manufacturer’s comparison data specifies M1.4 × 3 mm motor screws, but final compatibility should always be checked against the selected motors.

Ready for a vibration-damped camera mount

BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame features four mounting holes for vibration-damping grommets. These holes simplify installation of a compatible camera canopy and help isolate camera and video transmitter from vibrations generated by frame. A properly damped mount helps reduce the rolling jello effect that may otherwise appear in recorded footage.

Frame is compatible with BetaFPV Canopy II, which is designed, among other applications, for installing a DJI O4 Air Unit camera system. Other manufacturer-recommended canopies can also be used, including Canopy for O4 Air Unit, Air II Canopy, and Micro Canopy. When selecting a camera and video system, compatibility between canopy, camera, video transmitter, and flight controller should be checked.

Four damped mounting points make camera installation and removal easier. This supports faster maintenance and allows a damaged or upgraded component to be replaced without rebuilding the entire drone.

Lightweight frame for various FPV projects

BetaFPV Meteor65 Pro II Frame is suitable for users who want to build a compact 1S whoop for indoor flying, training, racing, or lightweight aerial filming. Its 70 mm wheelbase provides a stable platform while preserving the agility of a small drone and its ability to fly in confined spaces.

Frame is available in transparent grey, black, white, blue, and purple. This allows construction to be matched with other drone components or a pilot’s preferred colour scheme. Material, dimensions, and mounting standards are identical across all colour options.
