BetaFPV Pavo Pico II – black O4 Air Unit Frame kit for FPV drone builds

BetaFPV Pavo Pico II Brushless Whoop Frame – O4 Air Unit Frame Black is a propeller-guard frame kit for building a compact brushless FPV drone or replacing an existing Pavo Pico II frame. This black kit, identified by product code 01090033_1, includes a carbon plate, Whoop Duct component, O4 Air Unit Bracket II top and bottom plates, and installation accessories.

80 mm wheelbase and 19 g frame

Wheelbase is 80 mm, and the manufacturer specifies a weight of 19 g for the O4 frame version. Its construction combines PA12 and PP plastic components with a 1.5 mm carbon plate. Guard rings around all four propellers form the outer section of this whoop frame.

A supported injection-moulded structure and three guided mounting points help align the carbon plate correctly. Embedded nuts and a four-screw main mounting arrangement simplify frame assembly. Structural supports help reduce flex.

O4 Air Unit Bracket II and vibration damping

The included O4 Air Unit Bracket II is designed for mounting a DJI O4 Air Unit. Its four soft damping elements help reduce vibrations transmitted to the camera and resulting image distortion, commonly known as the jello effect. Camera mounting spacing is 14 mm.

According to the manufacturer, the carbon plate supports both DJI O4 Air Unit and DJI O4 Air Unit Pro. The supplied Bracket II is a mount for DJI O4 Air Unit; an O4 Pro build requires a suitable mounting solution for that system. A separate O4 Pro bracket is not included in this frame kit’s listed contents, and neither DJI video system is supplied.

Flight controller, motor and battery mounting

BetaFPV Pavo Pico II frame flight controller mounting holes are spaced 25.5 × 25.5 mm, matching a common mounting pattern for whoop flight controllers. Motor mounting is specified as 3-M1.4-φ6.6 mm: three M1.4 screws on a 6.6 mm mounting circle. When choosing components, check electrical compatibility as well as mounting dimensions.

Battery slot dimensions are 16 × 12.7 mm. Recommended components include LAVA 1102 14000KV brushless motors, GF 45 mm three-blade propellers, an F4 2-3S 20A AIO FC V1 flight controller, and LAVA 2S 450 mAh 75C or LAVA 2S 550 mAh 75C batteries. These are separately selected components rather than parts supplied with the frame kit.

Included installation accessories

Alongside the frame and O4 bracket plates, the kit includes two 5.8 GHz video transmitter antennas, damping elements for the flight controller and O4 bracket, damping pads and screws in several sizes. A Phillips screwdriver and an H1.5 hex screwdriver are supplied for assembly. Completing a flight-ready drone requires compatible electronics, motors, propellers, a video system and a battery, followed by configuration of the selected components.
