Transmitter has approximately 14.5 GB of internal storage, providing space for up to 28 hours of 24-bit audio. In 32-bit float mode, it can record up to 22 hours of audio. Internal recording can be set to start automatically when transmitter is powered on. Loop recording uses available storage continuously, making transmitter suitable for long interviews, events, lectures, and other extended recording sessions. Recordings can be saved as an original file or an algorithm-enhanced version. Processed files can include noise canceling, voice tone presets, low-cut filtering, and automatic gain control. Strong mode is designed for noisier environments with traffic, crowds, or other prominent background sounds.

A switch on DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver allows noise canceling to be set to off, low, or high. More detailed adjustments are available through DJI Mimo app. Noise canceling is disabled by default, allowing users to decide when algorithm-based audio processing should be applied. Using a windscreen outdoors also helps reduce wind gusts and other unwanted noise.

Three Voice Tone Presets

DJI Mic Mini 2S offers three voice tone presets for adapting sound to a user’s voice or content style. Regular mode delivers clean, natural, and balanced audio. Rich mode emphasizes lower frequencies, giving voices a fuller and more powerful character, while Bright mode highlights higher frequencies for added clarity and presence.

Voice tone can be selected in DJI Mimo app, with Regular used as default. If Original File is selected as internal recording file type, voice tone presets are not applied to original internally recorded files, but processing still affects audio transmitted to the receiver.

Automatic Gain Control

Adaptive gain control helps maintain more consistent volume and reduces impact of unexpected level changes. Clipping Control mode attenuates sudden volume peaks and helps protect recordings from distortion at sporting events, near traffic, or in other environments with rapidly changing sound levels.

Loudness Balance mode adjusts gain dynamically to keep speech volume more consistent. It is well suited to interviews, vlogs, and live streams where speaker distance or vocal volume may change during recording. Adaptive gain control can be configured in DJI Mimo app and is disabled by default.

Transmitter Weighing Approximately 12 Grams

DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter weighs approximately 12 g, excluding magnet and mounting clip. Lightweight construction keeps it comfortable during longer recording sessions while helping prevent clothing from sagging or microphone from appearing too prominent on camera.

Transmitter can be attached to clothing with a magnet or clip. Mobile receiver supports transmitters from different DJI microphone generations and can connect to up to two compatible transmitters simultaneously. A second transmitter is not included in this kit and must be purchased separately if required. This allows the system to be expanded later for two-person interviews, conversations, or other content featuring multiple speakers.

When mobile receiver is connected to a phone, it draws power from that phone. Recording can continue while charging if an external power source is connected. Phones with a Lightning port may require a separately sold DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver Adapter for simultaneous use and charging.

Transmitter stores pairing data for two receivers and one compatible Osmo camera. DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter supports OsmoAudio direct connection, allowing it to connect to selected DJI Osmo devices without a separate receiver. Approximately five minutes of charging can provide up to one additional hour of operating time, helping reduce downtime during busy production days or extended shoots.

To conserve power, transmitter can automatically enter sleep mode when no receiver signal is detected. Once connection becomes available again, it wakes and reconnects to receiver. Automatic power-off can also be enabled in DJI Mimo app, allowing devices to switch off after remaining disconnected for an extended period.
