DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter – Compact Wireless Microphone with Internal Recording
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter is a compact wireless microphone weighing approximately 12 g. It combines 32-bit float internal recording, two-level AI noise canceling, approximately 14.5 GB of built-in storage, and up to 11 hours of operating time. Transmitter is suitable for recording vlogs, interviews, podcasts, live streams, travel videos, lectures, and other content. It can be used with a compatible DJI receiver, selected DJI Osmo cameras, or connected directly to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
Sold separately, DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter is a practical choice for expanding an existing microphone system, replacing a transmitter, or recording audio independently. Built-in storage allows important audio to be backed up on the transmitter even if wireless connection is temporarily interrupted. Receivers, charging case, and other accessories required for expanding the system are sold separately.
32-Bit Float Internal Recording
DJI Mic Mini 2S supports 32-bit float internal recording, which captures audio with an exceptionally wide dynamic range. This reduces the need to monitor sound levels constantly or adjust gain manually during recording. If a speaker suddenly becomes louder, acoustic conditions change, or recording takes place in an unpredictable environment, 32-bit float format provides more flexibility for recovering excessively quiet or loud sections in post-production.
Wide dynamic range helps reduce risk of clipping and unusable audio, although correct microphone placement and appropriate settings remain important for achieving the best results. 32-bit float internal recording is disabled by default and can be activated through DJI Mimo app or a compatible connected device.
Approximately 14.5 GB of Built-In Storage
Transmitter has approximately 14.5 GB of built-in storage, providing space for up to 28 hours of 24-bit audio. In 32-bit float mode, up to 22 hours of audio can be stored internally. Generous capacity makes transmitter suitable for long interviews, events, training sessions, and lectures without requiring storage to be cleared after every short recording.
Internal recording can be configured to start automatically when transmitter is powered on. Loop recording continuously uses available storage and helps ensure that transmitter remains ready to back up important audio throughout longer production days. If wireless connection is temporarily interrupted, internally recorded audio remains stored on the transmitter and can be used in post-production.
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter can also function as a standalone audio recorder when needed. This allows it to capture interviews, voice notes, lectures, and other audio without a receiver.
Original or Processed Audio Files
Internal recordings can be saved either as an original Original File or as an algorithm-enhanced Edited File. Original files are suitable for users who want clean source material to process manually in post-production. Processed files can include noise canceling, voice tone presets, low-cut filtering, and adaptive gain control.
This provides a choice between flexible, unprocessed audio and sound optimized during recording. Processed file format is used by default, and this setting can be changed through DJI Mimo app or a compatible connected device.
When used with a compatible DJI Mic Mini 2S Charging Case, internal recordings can be transferred to a computer or smartphone at speeds of up to 34 MB/s. Under suitable conditions, a 30-minute 24-bit audio file can be copied in approximately eight seconds. Charging case is not included with a separately sold transmitter and must be purchased separately.
Two-Level AI Noise Canceling
DJI Mic Mini 2S uses a new AI-powered noise-canceling model that helps separate speech from surrounding noise and preserve vocal clarity. Users can select between two noise-canceling levels according to recording conditions.
Basic mode is suitable for quieter indoor environments where sounds from fans, air conditioning, room reverberation, or other moderate background noise need to be reduced. Strong mode is designed for noisier conditions and helps suppress traffic, crowds, and other prominent ambient sounds. Noise canceling is disabled by default and can be activated using transmitter button, DJI Mimo app, or a compatible OsmoAudio device.
If Original File is selected as internal recording file type, noise canceling is not applied to original internally recorded audio. It still affects audio transmitted to a receiver, allowing users to retain an unprocessed backup while applying noise reduction to wireless audio.
A suitable windscreen helps reduce wind gusts and other unwanted noise during outdoor recording. DJI also offers windscreens in different colors, available separately.
Three Voice Tone Presets
DJI Mic Mini 2S offers three voice tone presets for adapting sound to a user’s voice and content style. Regular mode delivers clean, natural, and balanced audio. Rich mode emphasizes lower frequencies, making voices sound fuller and more powerful. Bright mode highlights higher frequencies, adding clarity and presence to speech.
Voice tone can be selected in DJI Mimo app, with Regular mode used by default. If internal recording is set to Original File format, the selected preset is not applied to original internally recorded audio, but processing still affects the signal transmitted to a receiver.
Adaptive Gain Control
Automatic gain control helps stabilize volume when speaker distance or surrounding sound levels change. Clipping Control mode reduces sudden volume peaks and helps protect recordings from distortion. It is suitable for sporting events, areas near traffic, and other environments with rapidly changing sound levels.
Loudness Balance mode dynamically adjusts gain to keep speech volume more consistent. This function is useful for interviews, vlogs, and live streams where a speaker may move or change vocal volume during recording. Adaptive gain control can be configured through DJI Mimo app and is disabled by default.
Approximately 12 Grams and Flexible Mounting
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter weighs approximately 12 g with its magnetic front cover, excluding magnet and mounting clip. Low weight keeps the microphone comfortable during longer recording sessions, reduces fabric sagging, and helps transmitter remain unobtrusive on camera.
Transmitter can be attached to clothing with a magnet or clip. Detachable mounting clip rotates fully, allowing transmitter to be positioned sideways or upside down while maintaining an appropriate microphone orientation for different clothing and shooting angles.
Microphone appearance can be personalized with separately sold magnetic front covers in various colors. Transmitter can therefore be made less noticeable against clothing or a production’s visual style, or used intentionally as part of its design.
OsmoAudio Direct Connection
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter supports OsmoAudio direct connection, allowing it to connect to selected DJI Osmo devices without a separate receiver. Compatible devices include DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6. Depending on Osmo model, up to two transmitters can be connected directly.
OsmoAudio delivers high-quality 48 kHz / 24-bit audio while helping keep camera setups compact. Removing need for a separate receiver reduces the number of devices attached to a camera and simplifies filming during travel, vlogging, sports recording, and other mobile shooting situations.
Transmitter can store pairing data for two receivers and one compatible Osmo camera. After initial pairing, devices can reconnect automatically, simplifying use with multiple recording devices.
Bluetooth Connection to a Smartphone
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter can function as a Bluetooth microphone and connect directly to a smartphone. In this configuration, it can be used with compatible third-party recording and live-streaming apps. One transmitter can be used at a time when connected directly via Bluetooth.
A smartphone’s native camera app does not support a transmitter connected directly via Bluetooth as an audio source. A separately sold DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver may therefore be required for regular smartphone video recording. DJI Mimo app allows users to adjust settings, manage audio processing, and update transmitter firmware.
Compatibility with DJI Receivers
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter is compatible with selected DJI Mic Mini series receivers and DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver. It can therefore be used to expand an existing DJI microphone system or replace a lost or damaged transmitter. Exact cross-model compatibility depends on receiver model and firmware version.
When paired with a separately sold DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver, wireless transmission distance can reach up to 400 meters in an open, unobstructed, and interference-free environment. With DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver, maximum range reaches up to 300 meters under suitable conditions. Actual operating range depends on surroundings, obstacles, radio interference, and connected devices.
A single DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver supports simultaneous connection of up to four transmitters. This makes a separately sold transmitter useful for expanding systems used for podcasts, group interviews, and commercial productions. Independent four-channel audio output requires a compatible device and may also require a separately sold DJI Mic Series Camera Adapter or suitable computer software.
Up to 11 Hours of Operating Time
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter operates for up to 11 hours on a single charge. This allows it to be used throughout longer interviews, events, and production days without frequent charging breaks. Actual operating time depends on enabled features, connection, ambient temperature, and other usage conditions.
Approximately five minutes of charging can provide up to one additional hour of operating time. Fast charging helps return transmitter to use after a short break and reduces downtime during busy production days.
To conserve power, transmitter automatically enters sleep mode when no receiver signal is detected. Once signal becomes available again, it wakes and reconnects to receiver. If automatic power-off is enabled in DJI Mimo app and internal recording is inactive, transmitter may switch off automatically after remaining disconnected for an extended period.
Who Is DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter Designed For?
DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter is suitable for content creators, vloggers, interviewers, journalists, trainers, and podcasters who want to expand an existing DJI microphone system with an additional transmitter. It is also a practical choice for users who need a compact standalone audio recorder or an OsmoAudio-compatible microphone for a supported DJI Osmo camera.
Approximately 14.5 GB of built-in storage, 32-bit float recording, two-level AI noise canceling, three voice tone presets, adaptive gain control, and up to 11 hours of operating time make DJI Mic Mini 2S a flexible tool for everyday and professional content production. Broad connectivity allows the same transmitter to function as a standalone recorder, Bluetooth microphone, OsmoAudio microphone, or part of a larger wireless audio system.
