The DJI Matrice 400 (M400) is the pinnacle of modern drone technology – it’s not just a mobile pilot’s drone, it’s a real workhorse that, incredibly, once again manages to outperform its predecessor and make inspection, mapping and rescue missions even easier and more accurate.
Main strengths
- Flight time of up to 59 minutes (with a single camera) – significantly more than the M350 RTK’s 42 minutes. Instead of 2 batteries, the M400 uses one large 2025mAh battery. There is also the option of a built-in Tether battery, which can be connected to third-party Tether systems.
- Carrying capacity up to 6 kg – more than twice the capacity of the M350 RTK with a carrying capacity of 2.7 kg. In addition to the increased payload capacity, the M400 platform is capable of handling up to 7 different payloads simultaneously.
- Transmission range of up to 20 km (CE) – the predecessor’s maximum was 8 km (CE). 4G dongles and relay systems can extend transmission up to 40km.
- Obstacle detection – LiDAR + mmWave radar ensure safety even on high-voltage lines and in low visibility. Now even the finest branches and power lines can be detected in low light conditions.
- Weather resistance – IP55 dust and water resistance and the possibility of assisted take-offs and landings on ships.
- On-board artificial intelligence Manifold 3 (100+ TOPS), enabling data processing directly on the drone – real-time object detection and autonomous response modes. The open PSDK platform also allows the adaptation of third-party solutions.
