DRONE FLYING CHECKLIST
When you fly, make sure that:
The remote’s battery is fully charged.
Drone batteries are full.
Your smartphone battery is full.
The memory card in the drone or the drone’s internal memory has been cleared.
Propellers are included.
A cable to connect your smart device is included.
Get your drone up and running and make sure your devices have updated software and everything is connected.
Before you fly, make sure that:
The propellers are properly secured.
Remote antennas placed in parallel.
GPS signal strong (green bar in app on DJI drones).
The drone is far enough away from people, animals and property.
There are no trees above the drone.
There is no loose sand underneath the drone that can get into the engines. What else to watch:
Do you need a flight permit?
Does the weather favour flying?
Do you need an ND filter (for shooting with the sun, for example)?
Recommendations:
– If in doubt, ask a scientist!
– Don’t land/get off the roof of your car!
– Always calibrate in case of compass error!
– Never endanger manned aircraft!
– On your first flight, take it easy – learn to feel the drone.
