DJI Matrice 4TD is fully compatible with DJI Dock 3 station, enabling autonomous and remote operations around the clock. Automated take-off, landing and loading create a solution where the drone can complete planned missions with minimal human intervention.

DJI Matrice 4TD camera system and thermal performance

DJI Matrice 4TD’s greatest strength is its versatile sensor suite. Drone is equipped with a high-sensitivity thermal imaging camera (640 × 512), which allows it to detect heat sources even in total darkness, smoke, or in difficult terrain. This is critical for rescue operations, fire localisation and perimeter security.

In addition to the thermal camera, drone is equipped with a wide-angle camera with a 4/3″ CMOS sensor, which provides detailed and high dynamic range visual images. Telephoto camera allows accurate detection and magnification of objects at longer distances while maintaining clarity and detail. Integrated NIR backlighting supports night-time operations, improving visibility even in situations where natural light is absent.

This combination allows simultaneous assessment of the situation both visually and thermally, reducing the need for several different instruments.

DJI Matrice 4TD and DJI Dock 3 – autonomous 24/7 operation

DJI Matrice 4TD’s full compatibility with DJI Dock 3 system makes it suitable for stationary surveillance and monitoring solutions. Dock 3 station allows the drone to automatically launch, execute pre-programmed routes, land and recharge the battery without the need for an on-site operator.

This solution is particularly valuable for monitoring industrial sites, ports, logistics centres, power grids and other critical infrastructure. Autonomous operation reduces labour costs and ensures rapid response even in unexpected situations.

Robust construction and reliability in harsh environments

DJI Matrice 4TD is designed for professional use in harsh weather conditions. IP55 rating means protection against dust and water spray. Drone can operate in temperatures ranging from around -20°C to +50°C and can withstand winds of up to 12 m/s.

Maximum flight time ranges up to about 47 minutes, depending on the flight mode and environmental conditions. Longer flight times allow larger areas to be covered in a single mission and reduce the need for frequent landings.

Integrated laser rangefinder supports accurate distance measurement and object marking. This is important, for example, in rescue operations where it is necessary to quickly determine the location of a target or estimate the distance to a dangerous object.

Difference between DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD

Although the DJI Matrice 4D and DJI Matrice 4TD belong to the same product series, the main difference is the presence of thermal capability. Matrice 4D is aimed at visual mapping and daytime surveillance. DJI Matrice 4TD adds a full-fledged thermal camera and night operations capability, making it more suitable for rescue, security and crisis management missions.
